My son dumped my recycle bin. Is there any way to retrieve deleted files after the recycle bin has been emptied?

If the files haven't been over written you may be able to recover them.

I usually use Recuva, http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download or

Recover My Files. http://www.recovermyfiles.com/

Recuva is free and Recover My Files has a trial version that works well.

Good luck with that one in most cases they will be gone.

I was able to salvage some of them. The rest were corrupted.
