I used to only use Windows as an operating system since DOS until they

pushed the envelop too far and I found out that Linux isn't just for geeks.

 

I just cleaned up an XP computer where I found the following:

 

50 viruses.

Over 500 errant registry entries

7% free space on the hard drive.

C was the only partition.

26 GB folder on the desktop

Panda had been nuked by the viruses

Spybot, spywareblaster were also nuked.

Couldn't get on line.

When I ran the defrag analysis, the entire thing was red with two green

bars, not a blue one in sight.

54 Windows updates.

 

To top it off, the client didn't have a copy of XP.

 

Took me about ten hours to clean the damned thing up.

 

Owners: mother who doesn't have a clue about computers and a 12 year old

son who knows enough to be dangerous but not enough to stay out of

trouble, an eMule freak.

Pirate is not the appropriate term as the people who *steal* software

have no parrots, no eye patch, no sword, no boat and Jolly Roger waving

in the wind. They are accusing you of THEFT until you prove otherwise.

I agree Alias, but I never had the idea MS was trying to cover it up.

To me it has always meant that and I just always thought that it is no

surprise to anyone who has bothered to pull their head out of their

arse. To the rest of them clueless people, I think they all share some

blame in being willing sheeple.

At police check points, you have to produce a valid drivers license.

Do you scream at the cop.."How dare you accuse me of being a criminal!" ?

Do you scream at the waitress.."How dare you accuse me of under aged

drinking!" ?

Linux has no need for license agreements...Its free.

Linux must be horrible software...its users feel inclined to sway opinion by

bashing Microsoft.

Does Linux do anything useful ? ... or is it just "not Windows" ?
