Posted March 14, 201212 yr I have been getting an error in my 2008 server's system log: DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer (computername) using any of the configured protocols. The computer named in the error has never existed on the network. Where is Windows getting this computername from and why is it trying to communicate with a computer that never existed? I have read http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc774368(WS.10).aspx but it has not helped.
