logon windows xp pro slow due to problem with svchost

Hi,

I have a problem with my logon time for windows xp pro sp2. Recently i

noticed a huge increase in logon time while starting up windows. When i load

my pc, the "loading your personal settings" screen is taking about 40 secs to

complete. Bootvis shows that SVChost (or anything else) basically does

nothing for these 40 secs and that svchost is the service that's causing the

delay. I am thinking it is a bug or a setting in the registry or something,

but have been unable to locate the problem. All patches are applied, no

virusses or other mischivous malware detected (running nod32). Also not sure

what cause it. Didn't do anything special, like installing things at the

time, so i have no idea what is causing this.

Can any1 please help me?
