Windows (XP Home SP2) shuts down with an 0x0000007e stop error when I eject

a data CD from my DVD/CD-ROM drive.

Windows error report came back that this is "driver related". It advised

checking mfg (Toshiba) for driver and/or BIOS updates, I found none on their

not-too-helpful web site.

I uninstalled the Canon Camera software I had installed since the last time

my CD was OK - this didn't help. I made sure windows was updated.

But, when I ran msconfig - selective startup - I found that deselecting

tfswctrl.exe in the STARTUP tab prevents the error. This tfswctrl.exe

program is from Sonic Solutions: "Drive Letter Access Component" and, I

believe, was in the original installation by Toshiba. With it turned off I

can't add data to a CD.
