Your above comments more than anything demonstrates your level of

intelligence or more accurately lack of same. You being the total

fool, make the absurd assumption that what YOU alone experience is

shared by the countless tens of millions of others also using Vista.

This problem, like the others I mentioned have been reported far and

wide by many users. You of course just blow them off because it is

impossible for a butt kissing Microsoft apologist like to admit Vista

has flaws even after Microsoft admits it themselves.

You got to be a special kind of idiot to think that stupidly, but hey,

you Frank have proved beyond all doubt that is indeed how you "think".

If Frank doesn't experience it himself, then it doesn't exist. He's

said that countless times and little Frankie numbnuts is sticking with

his position.

Accepting your "logic" since you insist on responding to every post I

It doesn't actually matter at all.

However his constant lies that encourage people to switch to Linux for the

wrong reasons do matter both to Linux users who understand what they are

doing and have to take the flack and to the poor unsuspecting user that

takes the advice.

Wow, that's mighty judgmental. I could make a list and it would be a

damn long one of all the wrong things fanboys and MVPs have said here

in the last nine months.

What about the lies about Vista and all the rest of the crap that

routinely gets posted here that is BS? How come you're not bitching

about that?

For somebody that just joined the group you seem to have an

excessively high opinion of yourself and what you claim to know.

Sorry, not impressed.

What has that got to do with it?

Even if its true, which I don't know, it has nothing to do with this.

You may think there is some kind of contest to see who can come up with the

biggest lie but I don't.

Probably because I don't know if its true.

I have yet to become an expert on Vista and I wouldn't call myself an expert

on Linux either but its apparant that I know more than a lot of advocates

and experts here.

I am well aware of that link.

I am also aware of the fact Microsoft sometimes extends the lifecycle

You're pandering to ONE side. While Alias and others may be a bit over

the top in praising Linux, there are even more praising Vista, simply

because they don't know any better. Ever since I first visited this

newsgroup about nine months ago there has always been non stop banter

back and forth. A little of that is normal in many newsgroups. Here

there are obviously a few hot headed fools that are rabid in their

blind devotion to Microsoft so they don't see clearly. I don't even

have to mention who the worst case is, everyone knows what PUTZ I

mean. He's that big an idiot and the cause of 90% of the noise.

>Even if its true, which I don't know, it has nothing to do with this.

>You may think there is some kind of contest to see who can come up with the

The biggest thing I see wrong with this newsgroup is too many blindly

ignore all that's wrong with Vista trying to sweep problems under the

rug rather than openly discussing them. How does that help anybody

having real problems? The irony is for some so-called "support"

newsgroup, this one sucks big time. That's an honest assessment of the

silly happenings here. Talk about shooting the messenger. Too many

here simply don't want to hear about Vista problems. They prefer to

live in never never land and seem to enjoy pretending everything is

peachy.

Unless you have 256MB or 512MB on the video card and are willing to put

up with a machine that will be slower, there is no reason to upgrade.

I personally use SQL 2000/2005 and VS on my computers, and I'm about to

switch back from office 2007 to Office 2003 because of Office

performance issues. I don't like and find the performance of Vista to be

very lacking.

If you can stick with MCE or XP Prof, then do so - you could also

consider Server 2003 Standard if you can live without the MCE junk.

Server 2003 runs very well on your hardware.

As I see it you get three types here:-

A: Those with Vista with a serious problem looking for a solution.

B: Those without Vista, without a solution looking for a problem and those

without windows looking for a problem.

C: Those like me who dropped in with a minor problem and are still waiting

to see if a solution appears.

You and alias and a few others are in catagory B and are of no use at all to

people in categories A or C who already have Vista and don't want to

uninstal it and replace it with something else at this time. If I did want

to install XP then I would ask in an XP news group how to do it, likewise I

would in a Linux news group if I wanted Linux so people that want to get rid

of Vista shouldn't really be here at all as installing something else isn't

a Vista problem.

Your comments as lame as they are sadly typical of the clueless fanboy

crowd. Right off the bat you get it wrong. I've had Vista installed

since February, which if you would have bothered to check before

flapping you gums making a fool of yourself you could have easily

determined reading many of my posts where I've offered suggestions for

people having problems. Why would I want to uninstall it? You make no

sense. I want it to WORK. Are you so dense that you find that an

unreasonable expectation? I'm actually in Group D.

D: Experienced users that have used many versions of Windows over the

years and keep hoping Microsoft finally gets it's act together and

releases a WORKING version of Windows not desperately needing a

Service Pak before it actually works right. I'm sick of being

some unpaid beta tester that has to fight with a bloated,

rushed out the door, not fully tested pile of crap that is

obviously causing untold numbers of customers serious problems with

Microsoft basically saying talk to the hand.

What I find revolting is the fanboy crowd is all too willing to except

good enough is good enough. This newsgroup is filled with moronic

posts saying don't expect any better, because Microsoft has always

released Windows this way: Prematurely, bug infested and people are

expected to wait till SP1 before it is even close to being really

ready for retail release. I have one question. What the hell is wrong

with your people? Why do you line up to hand over your money to

Microsoft for a product that never delivers without needed a major

rewrite?

Can't you find another stupid diatribe remark to cover up your ignorance

and computer incompetence?

We're all sick and tired of the same old lame excuse you post every time

someone puts your dumb ass into a corner over your in ability to get

your one little flawed install of Vista business running correctly.

Try posting something intelligent for once your fat PUTZ!

If you don't have any problem stick with what you have until you do have

problems. You should only upgrade if you think there is a real benefit

from it. XP is fine until you need something else in the future which

might not be supported by it.

I agree, I almost to the point of telling general user's asking my advice to wait until the first service pack is released for DX10.

Other than that I have not seen any significant need.

Vista looks great, but still on the obtuse side for the average user by far.

It is a worthwhile effort but we are coming up on the first years end since its release and for the most part,

Software vendors are not programming for 64-bit, and hardware vendors are not finding the demand yet.

Please read my review:

The security features in Vista alone make it a worthy upgrade in my honest

opinion.

Wow. That is a totally awesome review.

Question: Other than forcing the user to click a popup for everything

what exactly does it buy you? IMHO people will simply begin clicking the

thing by reflex or find a way to turn it off.

I didn't get any popups.

Perhaps I have my browser configured better.
