Windows XP Pro has lost user settings and is no long er able to obtain ip address

One of the Windows XP Pro machines on our network has lost its user

settings and is unable to obtain an ip address from the dhcp server.

The user account still exsist but has lost the need for a password. i

can force the ip address and connect to the internal network but I

cannot connect to the internet or ping any outside address. Does

anyone have any ideas?
