I was trying to setup an internal cert server for administrative use (for

things like Dell's Server Manager and other hardware based interfaces) and i

was able to setup cert server ok and generate certs just fine but IE still

gives me an error because its not a trusted CA.

I went to the http://server/certsrv and i noticed there is a link to

"Download a CA certificate, certificate chain, or CRL" and i click on that

and it gives me a link to install a "Certificate chain" and says that if i

install that it will add it as a trusted CA, and that the server should be a

trusted root CA. so i do that, it installs fine, i look in IE and i can see

my server is in that huge list of CA's... GREAT.... only, when i go to a

site i still get the same message about it not being a trust CA... i look at

the cert and look at the issued by name and that is exactly what is listed

in the trusted root CA's.

what am i missing here?

Thanks

Justin
