Dear Windows experts :-D

I hope that this is the correct newsgroup for this question. If not, would

you be so kind to point me to the correct one... ?

The problem is as follows:

In my Start menu (Start => All programs) all shortcuts are missing. The

folders are intact as well as all shortcuts in them. Only the seperate items

are gone (for example: Internet explorer, Outlook express, MSN, ...)

The program files themselves are still present in the program files folder

and they all still seem to work flawless.

When I look to the start menu folder for my user, all user or default user I

can see that they are missing as well. The only thing that is still visible

is a shortcut called Desktop (without the name appearing, but with the icon

shown).

When I copy the files from an other pc to the start menu folder everything

works fine, but after restarting Windows, they were gone again and only that

mysterious blank shortcut appeared again!

Scanning for virusses, spyware, etc with various tools didn't solve

anything..

Can anyone point me in the right direction or solve my problem?

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Sven
