I am not sure this is software or hardware problem but happens to when

booting into XP and VISTA.

Here's my situation:

I got harddisk installed XP SP2. Also another harddisk installed VISTA

Ultimate. Both harddisk are in internal mobile rack. So at ONE time I plug

in XP harddisk to boot into XP, pull out the XP HD and insert VISTA HD to

boot into VISTA.

Besides, I also got 2 HD internally. All HD are SATA.

The problem occurred recently: sometimes when I boot into XP but failed,

just stay on the progress bar forever, sometimes can boot into XP but hang

during working.

It also happens similar to VISTA.

I tried both to boot into safe mode, sometimes work but sometimes does not.

I thought that's harddisk problem, but these 2 hard disks were bought a

couple of months ago. Although that may be harddisk problem but both pretty

new harddisk fail at the same time is quite unlikely.

The temporary solution is:

If I boot into XP is failed, I pull out the XP HD, insert the VISTA HD to

boot. If it succeeds, then put back the XP HD, it then will normally

succeed. Or vice versa.

Any idea? Does it related to motherboard or my other HD?
