I have a new Lenovo Notebook - XP Pro SP2 and am in the process of

setting it up and some of the files that I want are on my old Dell

Inspiron (also XP Pro SP2).

Some files, thus far all executables, will not copy. They are located

under the "Shareddocs" folder on the Dell. Other executables copy

with no problem.

If I make a copy of the "offending" folder on the Dell then that new

folder will copy which seems to indicate that it is a permissions

issue.

The Dell has never been joined to a domain though it may have some

files on it from another machine that was a member of a domain at the

time those copies were done.

Note that I can Push the files from the Dell to the Lenovo, but I

can't pull them!

What's going on and is there a resolution?

Just remembered that on one attempt late one night I noted that on the

Properties of one file there was a note about "Unblock" (or Unlock -

it was late and I was tired). Clicking the checkbox allowed that file

to be copied but I haven't come across it since. Was this just my

imagination?

Finally I recall there being a Security tab on folders. Was this only

when joined to a domain?
