Posted October 2, 200717 yr On a XPSP2 system I have a folder on the root of C: drive that I cut TXT files from and paste them into another folder located on the desktop. After doing this a few times I get the Windows Explorer "needs to close" crash dialog. The Event log records this: Event Type: Error Event Source: Application Error Event Category: None Event ID: 1000 Date: 10/2/2007 Time: 11:15:13 AM User: N/A Computer: ROBP4 Description: Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module shlwapi.dll, version 6.0.2900.2781, fault address 0x0000417e. I had just installed a Citrix Client (10.100.55836) that has drives mapped to the folder at the root of C:. 1. Crash only seems to occur when cut/copy/paste involves this Citrix mapped folder 2. After uninstalling Citrix, crash can still be reproduced using the problematic folder 3. I can produce the crash on 2 different Dell machines Note that there is some talk about this issue on the Citrix forums but the threads there are from 2004-2005 and there is no solution posted. TIA for any responses.
