Hello all

Ich have some Windows XP sp2 machines (hp D530sff) in a Windows 2003

sp1 domain. This machines are switched off from power after work.

The RTC on the mainboards is shifting slowly away, so i get diffs of

some minutes after a some months.

When the pcs are running for about two hours, the time inside Windows

has been adjusted to the domain.

But after the the pcs are powered off over night, and switched on the

next day, the same growing difference in time is back again.

Of course i can set the time inside BIOS, but after 6 month it goes

some

minutes faster or slower.

Should Windows adjust the time (RTC) on the Mainboard automatically?

The settings of W32Time in registry are the same as described by the

available Microsoft docs. There is no GPO active then default

domainpolicy.

The only difference in registry is that

HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\NtpServer

InputProvider has a value of 0.
