Monitor turns off an won't turn back on

Hi,

When I leave my machine running on a big job I log off by switching user and

let it run in background mode. I also turn off the monitor.

Sometimes when I try to log back on, the monitor will power up but XP won't

power up the monitor with the display. The result is I have to do a complete

warm boot via the reset switch - not the result I wanted.

Any ideas?
