Guest Shiniman Posted September 7, 2007 Posted September 7, 2007 Hi, I've have been trying to install a Japanese game on my PC. Almost the whole installation goes without problems until the installer tries to read an .txt file which is in Japanese and Windows can't read it so I have to abort the installation. I've installed the files for East Asian languages. The thing is I still can't read the .txt (it does in Word), also there is a guy in my MSN list which has Japanese kanji in his name which I don't see 9.5 out of 10 times. When I try to select 'Japanese' as language for non-unicode programs I get the error "Setup was unable to install the chosen locale. Please contact your system administrator". I'm the admin on this PC. I also tried Microsoft Applocale but because Windows can't read the Japanese kanji I can't choose it from the list of available languages. I'm running XP Professional with SP2. Quote
