Posted January 12, 201212 yr Hello @ll, ive the following (very strange) problem with our print server in our network: Some printjobs takes a very long time to leave the spooler print queue and finally reaches the printer. Therere are no errors in the logfiles, the workload is minimum, a restart of the printer doesnt help. On the printserver there were only drivers from one manufacturer installed (Kyocera). The problem is not repeatable and there are always other various models. It seems that something "blocked" the queues. OS: Windows 2008 R2 / numbers of printqueues: nearly 300 / number of different models: 26 / number of different printer drivers: 3. Maybe theres a chance to use the R2-Feature "isolated modus" for all print drivers ? Does anybody have any experience with this feature ? Or generally any idea about this problem ? Thanks for your support. Amon
January 12, 201212 yr Hi, Try with a generic printer like hp plc5 driver to see if the problem continue. What type of document is printed pdf doc ? Network card of the printer or of the server is in half duplx which cause to take a long time to print a 1mb size document maybe
January 18, 201212 yr Author Hi Virgule, its a little bit difficult to simulate this with a plc5 driver - there are 300 various printqueues. But at the moment the problem has been fixed. (old drivers has been removed, isolation-modus has been set, the vm was moved on faster hard discs etc..). Thanks for the tip with the speed, but ive already checked our switches and the network-cards of the printers. Theyre full duplex. The documents were also various (pdf, doc,xls...), the size too. Hope now it works for a long time ! Thanks, Amon
