HELP I want to clean out my present network settings

I want to lean out the network settings in our two XP pro computers

and start over.

Both machines (#1 & #2 ) are connected to a DI-DO4 which is fed by the

WESTELL DSL router.

The Internet connections are fine for both machines.

And both are on the 'network', but neither was intentionally

designated as a server. It's supposed to be peer to peer.

The printer is an HP930c (USB) connected to #2.

I have pdf Factorypro and Fineprint installed on #1.

We've gone through some hardware changes, and I have not attempted to

use the printer for quite a while, until yesterday.

When I attempted to print using Word, the HP 930 is not among the

choices.

I tried to configure the printer and failed.

Right now when I open NetworkPlaces from #1 I see my two internal had

drive icons

when I view workgroup (MSHome) computers, both machines appear BUT

When I click on #2; I get an message "//Ladyhawk was not accessible.

You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact

the administrator of this server to find out if you have access

permissions. the network path was not found"

When I click on #1 (my PC) I see icons for C, D, SharedDocs, Printers

and Faxes, Scheduled Tasks, AND icons for printers 2,3,4,5,6, and 10.

In the #1 printers and faxes folder there are: fineprint, HTML Driver,

Microsoft Word Image Writer, PDF driver, PDF Factory pro, RTF driver

During the scuffle yesterday I saw something that said my versions of

PDF Factory and Fineprint were not server versions. But I am not

trying to use these applications to print, and besides there is no

server'

I have a few books and referred to the XP help and support, but to

not avail.

I would just as soon wipe out whatever network configurations I have

and start over, especially get rid of all those printer icons.

But I don't know how. besides some advice any recommendation for on-

line resources or a good publication would also be much appreciated.
