Samsung DVD writer

The Samsung TS-H552U Writemaster works okay when a pre-recorded DVD or CD is

inserted. However when a blank disk i9s inserted it tries to read the disk

and then reboots my PC.

The error logs shows the following - Error code 1000008e, parameter1

c0000005, parameter2 806ee753, parameter3 f183a0e8, parameter4 00000000.

Looking at Control Panel - System - Device Manager shows all okay.

Any ideas?
