I have had my windows xp home edition lock up lately. While using the

machine, the mouse just freezes, and none of the keys work. Ctl-alt-del

doesn't work, and I can't regain control of the machine --- so I just have to

hold the off switch to kill the computer.

When it restarts, I get the useful message that my machine has recovered

from a serious error. I've gone into the "administrative tools" folder and

looked at the error log, and what has been reported is: event ID 1003, error

code 100000d1

When let the event viewer show me what this error is supposed to mean, none

of the listed items seem to make any sense for my condition.

I did not get a blue screen of death, but just simply a frozen system. I

did not get a specific stop code displayed.

HELP!!
