Guest Ken Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 When I set up a Windows XP system, the computer is connected to our network and recieves it's IP address information through a DHCP server. This includes the IP address of our Primary WINS server. The system is only placed on our network to activate Windows. After completing activation, a static IP address and network are assigned, the system is shut down and shipped to our clients. When the systems are powered up at the client site and put on their network, the entry for our Primary WINS server still exists if they run 'ipconfig /all'. There is no WINS server on this network. If we go into the WINS tab of 'Advanced TCP/IP Settings', no WINS server is listed. How can I remove Primary WINS server entry before shipping the systems to clients? TIA, Ken Quote
