Since I upgraded to WMP11, I can't manipulate any of my previously purchased,

protected music. When I attempt to play, or move to a portable, or even rip

from an audio disc it gives me an error message. The error message says that

"Windows Media Player cannot play the protected file because a security

upgrade is required. Do you want to download the security upgrade?" clicking

on yes brings up another dialogue box "The file or device that you are trying

to use requires a component of Windows Media Player to be upgraded". When I

click "Upgrade" nothing seems to happen. I can find no reference to these

security issues in any of the microsoft troubleshooting pages for WMP11.

There are no pending updates for either my copy of Windows XP, or WMP11.

When I try to purchase new music I get a dialogue that says that there may

have been a problem downloading the license... Any Ideas?
