Hello,

I am trying to create roaming profiles for my computers. All of the client computers are running windows 7 64bit. I have connected them to the domain and they will all log into the users that are created on the server, but when i change computers the new computer makes a temporary profile instead of using the profile that was already created.

What I have done on the server:

I set up a shared file on the C drive to hold all of the profiles information. It is given permissions to add and remove by authenticated users. I have then created users in the Active Directory Users and computers. I have placed the file path to the profiles folders in the profile under properties. I have a static ip set for the server as well.

When the computers first log in they put a file into the profiles folder with the username of the person .v2 ex. chrislake.v2. I am logged in as an administrator I am unable to access these files.

I then tried changing the path in the Active Directory Users and computers for the user to the folder that it had created. ex chrislake.v2 A new folder was then created chrislake.v2.v2

Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. I am very new to this. If you need any other information please let me know

Everything right :)

Make sure that permissions for shared folder are full control for domain users and then set up the ntfs permissions correctly. The v2 is for backward compatibility :)
