Posted August 12, 200717 yr Hi all, I know therer are a number of postings on similar subjects and I have read then all to resolve my problem...but I havent found an answer! My PC does not recognise any new memory / pen drives I have tried three so far. One had drivers on a disc and the other two should have been able to run on the drivers within XP SP2 but dont. I have tried to download the drivers from the manufacturers web site but this still does not work as my XP tells me there is a problem with the hardwear and will not run it. The PC knows i am attaching devices as it pings when I stick it in the USB slot. I do have an old pen drive from work that runs with no problems at all. I have had the same story with three different MP3 players and cannot run them although one ran for a short time untill it became unrecognised. In addition I recently installed a SATA 250 Mb hard drive and lathoughj it runs the PC keeps coming up with a warning that the device is not installed properly. I am wondering if my USB 2.0 drivers are working as it makes no difference wether i use the front or rear USB ports nothing works. My machine is runing a WinFast mother board utility however when I try to re-install the USB Drivers the software tells me that the drivers are not compliant with XP and I should load them from my XP SP2 Bundle. I have tried to find USB 2.0 drivers on microsoft and update my drivers but the system tells me again that the hardwear cannot be installed. I am tearing out what little hair I have left can anyone help or suggest a solution Baldeagle UK
