MS06-034 repeatedly reoffered by Auto Update

I am experiencing the problem detailed in the following kb article running

on XP Pro SP2.:

Their brilliant "work around" is to remove the IIS Common Files. Well heck,

Microsoft, maybe I have the IIS Common Files installed FOR A REASON. To see

the Exchange attributes in ADU&C you must have the IIS Common Files

installed.

Googling about kb917537 I see many people having the issue. Anyone know of

a fix besides disabling Automatic Updates or installing full blown IIS which

I don't need on an XP box? I know I could disable the Web services after

installing but it sure seems like overkill.
