Also have a TV on a UPS since its the HTPC monitor. We use APC Back-UPS ES 650 devices. In addition to being convenient UPS units, they also seem to provide excellent surge protection and an audible warning when there is a power problem. We also use small and old APC units on the cable modem, router, switches and WAP. Really seems to help network stability during storms. I don't use the UPS power-out detection software although it would probably be a good idea to do so. Quote
