Hello,

Have a question concerning a USB2 "Dane" 1GB drive.

Home unit with WindowsXP Home SP2 all security updates.

Unit has 4 USB2 ports in back and 2 USB2 ports on top.

Plugged in USB 1GB "Dane" drive into one of the top ports, picked up by

Windows

without problem.

Downloaded MP3 files, drive stopped at 578MB, indicated could not

created next file. Tried several different types of files same results.

Deleted files from USB2 drive and restarted install process, this time

677MB installed before same problem occurred.

Tried several more times, amount installed from 468 MB to 838 MB.

Have a USB2 4 port powered hub connected to one of the back ports.

Plugged in the USB2 "Dane" 1GB drive into the external hub and started MP3

file download, drive filled to limit without problem.

Have always used the top ports for USB drives, from a 1.5GB "Sony", "Dane"

512MB

and "Flash" 128MB without any problem.

Any idea why this drive has a problem downloading from the top ports,

while other drives including one made by the same company has no problem?

Thank You for replies.

take care.
