I had a malware infection, and it was necessary to repair Windows files

(Windows XP w/ sp2). I work for local court system, so the county tech.

assistance did this for me. I own my own laptop computer with an infrared

port. I use it to print my court documents on the county printer without

doing a cable connect and disconnect.

When at the control panel, there is an icon for "wireless link," but I am

not able to open it. The device manager shows the device and tells me the

item is working properly. When the laptop is in the vicinity of the printer,

the printer infrared flashes to establish contact. Since there are no

settings in "wireless link," I am not able to change them. Help only tells

me to put the computer near the other device and it will establish contact.

There is no infrared icon in my taskbar when attempting the connection.

Is there a location at microsoft.com I can find the "wireless link" files?

I have my install disks. Can I somehow find only "wireless link" for repair?

Not a life and death issue, but certainly keeps me from pulling out my hair.

Thank you.
