Posted July 24, 200717 yr I have a Microsoft Optical Mouse (in fact it happens on more than one type of Microsoft USB mouse) that connects and disconnects from the USB port intermittently. I will go to move the cursor and the computer will ding with the SUB Device disconnect and then it will ding with the USB device connect. Sometimes it will do it several times in a row. Someimtes I have to disconnect the USB connector and reinsert it to get it working again. this occurs on all USB ports on the latop, several mice, and I have moved the harddrive to another laptop and the problem moves with it.
