Guest Lyle Walsh Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Thanks for your help Peter. Those directions in the previous post didn't reinstall the codec but got me on the right track. My codec Microsoft GSM 6.10 was deleted when I uninstalled the old version of ACE MegaCodecs as it is a stadard windows component but also comes in the ACE Megapack. Unfortunately, reinstalling Ace didn't repair the damage. To reinstall the codec follow the directions outlined here on the Ventrilo FAQ: http://www.ventrilo.com/faq.php#codec1 where you basicly use add/remove hardware from the control panel and pretend that you are adding a new sound device and pick out the Microsoft GSM 6.10 codec. HOWEVER, what the FAQ directions don't tell you is that the necessary install file "MSGSM32.ACM" isn't on your computer, instead its on the windows original install disk. Consequently you need to use explorer to search for that file on the install disk and type in its location when asked to copy from disk. Then autoconfigure and reboot. I hope that this helps someone Quote
