google search box plugin for Outlook is missing

I think I've fixed this problem, I wanted to log it to help anyone

who's looking for an answer to this problem:

 

 

Sometimes the Google Search box doesn't appear in Outlooks toolbar

tray and I have no idea why. I've tried closing and relaunching

Outlook, and restarting my system.

 

the possible solution is this:

I shut down Outlook, open Windows Task Manager go to "Process tab",

sort the view by "Mem Usage" so the large numbers are on top. then

select outlook.exe and click "end process". Relaunch Outlook, tada,

the google search box reappears
