I need help to prevent windows media player 10/11 opening in a maximised window

After reinstalling WMP 11after a conflict with a G15 applet windows media

player always opens maximised whereas before it opened in the same sized

window that I was last running (the normal player resized to fit the

lower-right quarter of the screen). The properties of the wmp 11 icon are

set to open in a normal window and rolling back to wmp 10 still presents the

same issue.

I have posted this issue in the windows media player forum but nobody

bothered to reply.
