iPod syncs extremely slow...why?

I'd appreciate any help I can get. It's syncing with iTunes--latest version

of the software too. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2, and using USB 2.0.

But for some reason, it's synching extremely slowly. It's copied about 30

megs in the past 15 minutes. I've got about 12 gigs of files to transfer.

I can't understand why it's taking so long. Any ideas? Thanks.
