Hi There everyone! Hope you can help with this annoying problem.

When i boot my computer it sometime hangs on the first page(of loading) of

XP; Or sometime it goes past the first page and hangs on a blank screen

between the loading page and logging-in account page. Or if it does load

properly and i log in to my account the computer will sometimes freeze after

a few minutes and i need to reboot again. I have to re-boot 2 or 3 times

before it comes good. I have a duel core 3ghz processor and 2gb ram and run

XP windows. the computer is about 6 months old. I use AVG free antivirus

program which informs me there's no bugs. Any ideas? Hope you can help.

Billy, do you check for Malware? Go here and get Spybot Search and

Destroy and Adaware if not. They are free.

Try Windows Defender from Microsoft also.

Billy, malware is spyware and unwanted adware. Not the same as a virus.

You will be much more likely infected by malware. Great list that Nass

provided. You could try Spyware Doctor. It's not free but it will find

mostly any malware.

It costs to remove what it finds. I usually check the paths of the various

infected files and delete them myself but if you

are heavily infected that might take all day.
