I'd like to configure my computer to use wifi for internet and the

ethernet for intranet. Is this possible? It sounds simple but I

haven't found how to do it by searching google.

Off the top of my head, here are two options:

 

1.) You can try messing around with static routes, but it requires some

understanding of TCP/IP. See

2.) You can give your wired Ethernet card a static IP address and not put

anything in for the default gateway. This will basically limit it to just

your local LAN subnet. Now, this doesn't necessary prevent your WiFi from

using the LAN also, but in my experience, if you have wired and WiFi running

at the same time, the wired connection will be used first. So in this case,

XP should use the wired connection first, and when it finds that it can

cannot connect to the destination, such as an Internet Web site, then it

will try the WiFi connection.
