My husband downloaded a .exe file from a trusted ftp site and now the

computer is stuck in a boot loop. I see the windows xp splash screen but

that's it. If I boot in safe mode, I can see all the drivers load, but again

it just reboots. I am in the recovery console, but don't know where to go

from here. Does anyone know how to run the system restore from this point?

Hi,

If you haven't logged on to the system since installation of this file, you

can try Last Known Good Configuration:

Theresa, I know this sounds a bit lame but....

Have you tried holding in the start button on the tower until the machine

boots down

and then booting up again.

The link I provided has nothing to do with the Recovery Console, it has to do with

running a Restore from a Safe Mode Command Prompt.
