I am running XP with SP2 and have all the latest updates.

I am having problems installing a new Maxtor hard drive. XP recognises it

as a Maxtor 3200 but having searched for drivers, a message comes back

'Cannot Install this Hardware' There was a problem installing this

hardware: Maxtor 3200. An error occured during the installation of the

deveice. The data is invalid.

I had the same problem when trying to install a new Samsung phone a few days

ago and restored the system back to an earlier date - that seemed to have

cured the problem for the Samsung phone. However, this has now happened with

the new Maxtor drive that I am trying to install.

However, this seems to be a problem installing new USB devices. Does anyone

have an idea of how I can stop this happening - and, importantly, enable me

to install the Maxtor hard drive?

I would appreciate any help anyone can give me - by the way, I am a real

novice so please dont get too technical on me!

Thanks

Lily

Make sure the interface signal cable is away from any /

all power wires or display control cables. These can

interfere with serial cables. Also check with the

manufacturer for a USB driver and with the drive

manufacturer for an updated driver pack. If these are

available, try doing a local install, and see if the problem

persists. All else aside, if there are specific drivers for

the chipset in the machine try to update these (again a

local install is preferred.)

In Romans 1 there are qualities of Unregenerate man listed

which describe him in the last days.

Is your quality found on this list??
