Whever I use explorer, or my computer, etc., and look at the contents of a

folder, or search by name, I see multiple listings of the same file. This is

disconcerting. When I try to do a group delete, since I may have the file

listed multiple times, it says it can't find the second instance of the file

and therefore cannnot delete it. So, it limits deleting to one file name.

 

Why does Explorer/My Computer/Search list each file name multiple times, and

what can I do about it. I searched MS help for multple file, filename,

repeat, and various combinations, but as usual, there is no mention of the

problem.

    Examine the files by right clicking and selecting properties. Does this

    shed any light?
