Im using xp home sp2 now. my next desktop Im sure will have Vista.

OK, how frustrating will the transition be, if I want to use all the same

hardware and software that Im using now.

heres a list of my stuff.

alienware notebook area 51 7700

XP Home sp2

sonar 5.2 producer

2.9 gz 3 gigs ram 60 gig hard drive and

100 gig hard drive

my sonar bundle files are on a seperate hard drive

than the OS

alesis multi 8 firewire mixer

presonus fire box firewire audio card 4 ins 4 outs

(the alesis mixer has 8 virtual inputs going into computer

but only 1 stereo set output, the firebox has 4 in and 4 out)

KRK monitors self powered

toneworks pandora effects unit Im not using an amp when

away from home I use the pandora then into the audio card

BFD Acoustic drum kit 1.5

Triangle bass soft synth

les paul studio

Fender blue junior guitar amp

A low cost set of mics that use phantom power from MXL

Perhaps you should visit the your software & hardware sites and check for

compatibility/issues?

This is a question for people who've already done what you contemplate. IOW,

ask in a Vista newsgroup. You'll get more input.

Run the upgrade advisor. That will give some idea but it is not to be taken

as a guarantee, but heed the advice. It is not complete or always accurate.

Check on the web sites for the manufacturer's of the individual hardware

components for Vista compatibility and drivers. Check on the software

authors' web sites for compatibility and info on whether upgrades are

needed.

Note: there are Vista specific newsgroups. That would be the best place to

check on these issues.
