Hi,

I have just installed two 512mb ram in my Sony Vaio laptop which

should now give me 1024mb ? My system information only shows 448mb.

When I boot up and go into the BIOS the 'Total Memory' is also only

448mb ?

 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I would suspect that you have not succeeded in installing the ram correctly,

    or perhaps some of the chips are not compatible with your system. I would

    put in one set of 512, test, and take it out to put in the other alone, and

    test. If they both work, you probably have a bad socket (bank) for the

    second set.
