sAbout a month or so ago my HP laptop would not restart. I put in the OS

disk ad was able to repair. Did not loose any programs or files.

But now I do not have the XP Service Pack 2 intalled. My OS says I still

have the XP SP1 running.

When I attempt to update MS says I already have the SP2 installed.

Any advice?

When you use an older version (XP "Gold" or XP SP1) to Repair an SP2

installation, you need to fix the installation disk to "slipstream" SP2.

See:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=slipstream+sp2

Make a slipstreamed installation disk and then do the Repair again.
