desktop icons

Hi folks,

 

I realise that this question is fairly trivial so I also ask you only to

treat it as such! ;-)

 

If I tell windows that I want my desktop icons arranged alphabetically, I

get (about) one half of them arranged alphabetically, then stops (apparently

randomly) the rest of the sort list follows on at the end but arranged

alphabetically.

 

Why does this happen? Did Microsoft have a reason for doing this?
