About a year ago I had bought a Gigabyte nVidia 6800 to go along with my gaming rig. Three or so months later my computer suffered a massive power surge knocking out mostly every piece of hardware in my PC.

At this point I had bought a new computer but the video card is extremely out of date (6100). I'm wondering if there's any way of testing to see whether my old video card was affected by the power surge. I'm thinking I can test it in my new computer but I'm not sure if a dead video card would screw up my current PC. That’s of course pending whether or not it's even working.

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.
