Recentlly i had carried my hard disk to my friends home, there it was used as a slave, all was working fine over there for 2 months. Now when i bought it back and started using as master, there are some serious problems coming. All my exe files are not working, their icon is being shown as ms-dos files, wat could be the cause? my jumper setting is right. Also when exe files are clicked, a message box is display that u dont have access to write the disk. Can anyone suggest a solution. I am not sure whether its a virus.

I also got this problem while manoeuvring with my HDD once but it can also be a virus. Try renaming the .exe to .com. This should open your program. Also try a checkdisk on it?

By the way there are some patches to make them work on the internet.
