RussSharpe Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 I'm having a problem with one of my computers. When I boot up I get the a message "Keyboard error or no keyboard present" The keyboard works on the set-up screens and in the DOS mode, but will not work in Windows. I've reinstalled windows with no luck. I can't complete the installtion without a working keyboard. I've used different keyboards and triple checked the connections. I'm stumped, anyone have any ideas? Russ Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted July 27, 2006 FPCH Admin Posted July 27, 2006 Have you tried another known working keyboard? Maybe the mouse port on the motherboard is bad. Could have a couple loose solder points. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
nerdyreme Posted July 29, 2006 Posted July 29, 2006 If the error appears in the black screen at boot up, try using a keyboard from the USB port - coz the PS/2 port might be bad ... try getting u r self a USB port keyboard. :) Alex Support Engineer SupportMinds http://www.supportminds.com Quote
