I am hoping that my son's HD isn't going south. Windows Home Ed. gives an error message ---blue screen hangs during scan @ 72%. Windows asks if to opt on sending report or not...either way...error continues to pop up. I have been able to get Windows to work by dragging pop-uip out of way. He is not connected to the Net. The error code is the following:

BCCOde : d1 BCP1: 00000014 BCP2: 00000002

BCP3 : 00000000 BCP4: F99800F8

C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini032006 -01.dmp

C:\Docume~1\Justin~1\Temp\Wer17.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xm\

Any help woould be greatly appreciated...I am hoping to not have to reformat

You can try this.

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery : Settings > uncheck Automatically Restart.

Reboot. You should get a Blue Screen stop error with a code like this STOP 0x0000007F and a driver name.

If the disk is causing the problem which it looks like from the error you may have a bad sector or corruption.

If it is the in the file system then you can run chkdsk from command box, reinstall the drivers or use disk utilty software to try and fix it. If that don't work then a new disk might be needed.

Do a search here. There was someone having a similiar problem and it turned out to be a driver problem.
