Posted January 3, 200619 yr I tried to use Windows media player to watch a DVD movie (New not burned). The movie is a wide screen version and I have a 26" LCD wide screen monitor. When I play DVD I get a wide screen version but it is fairly small. When I click full screen I get a slightly larger version but no where near "full" wide screen size. I used the 200% enlargement with little effect. I also tried changing screen reolution to various settings with the 1260x720 giving the largest actual picture, but agin only about half of the actual screen is being used. When I run other progams on the PC I get to use the entire screen. Is there a simple solution to this problem? As a side not media player crashed at least 6 times over a 2 hour period and I had to restart.
January 12, 200619 yr 2 points to make here.. 1st, is the video card setup for only 1 monitor in the display control panel ?? If you are using an nVidia display adapter, then the setting should look like the one in the image below: You never did specify what video adapter your PC uses...and if setup incorrectly, it sees 2 screens by default. Next, Windows media player is kind of a generic DVD playback system, it uses drivers from other dvd software to work, and it does a poor job at it.. Have you concidered using other software such as Cyberlink's PowerDVD ? . .
