Posted June 18, 200519 yr i just started getting a error message on startup on xp. it says rundll error windows system32/pupw.sys driver not found.. my system seems to be running ok but cannot figure out how to get rid of this error. i did a google search on pupw.sys and it comes up with a language i cannot understand.. how do i fix this... thanks
June 18, 200519 yr Author sorry i did not write the above post correctly.. the exact error is rundll error error loading c:\windows\system32\drivers\pupw.sys the specified module could not be found. thanks
June 19, 200519 yr FPCH Admin Open regedit and search for pup.sys. When you find the key that references it delete it. Restart and the error should be gone. Another Forum - Unlike the Rest
June 19, 200519 yr Author thank you so much bob. that worked great... question would that error keep me from doing a system restore. i tried several times to do a system restore but it said it could not be restored to an early time... thanks again
