Hello everyone,

Try to make this short and sweet. HELP!!!

My system keeps rebooting on its own when I access certain applications and when it reboots I get this message:

"SATA Primary hard disk drive 0 failure" Strike F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility.

I turn the system off and turn it back on and it works ok till it crashes again. Also, I get the send error message when I power the system back on and this is what I get in details:

C:\DOCUME~1\DELLUS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERea4e.dir00\Mini060205-03.dmp

C:\DOCUME~1\DELLUS~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WERea4e.dir00\sysdata.xml

Any suggestions on what to do? I have ran disk defrag, done a HD check from the BIO's splash screen and it passed. I am running XP Pro Serv pack 2 on a Dell XPS Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz 800FSB 1MB cache, 512MB kingston Hyper X 433Mhz DDR memory, 256MB DDR Video memory, with a Seagate 160GB 7200RPM 8MB buffer SATA Hard drive w/ Native Command Queuing

Thx in advance,

Blue

Try updating your VIDEO drivers, I'm assuming you have an ATI Radeon... yes, odd sounding solution I know, but it is a documented MS glitch

I'd take a blind guess that, that would be your problem. I wouldn't think it would be a hard drive problem. But then again, since you get that message on reboot, thats most curious. Try the updated driver first and see if that fixes it.

Also, last night I found my resource CD and ran the Dell 32bit Diag and got the following error message:

Msg. SYSTEM_ERROR initialization failure.

Invalid L1/L2 relationship. L1 size: 0 L2 size: 100000

Thx for the info on the Video card and yes it is ATI Radeon .... I will try that tonight.
