My name is Pierre and I love to program and work with computers. I do that

as a hobby but I am a reference person for most of my friends and for many of

my friends' friends.

 

I was brought here as a result of a search on AltaVista (hey yes) about a

problem I have on an old computer still with ME and which never boots on

the first time. The friend of mine who owns it discovered that the only way to

have it boot was to shut down the main power switch at the rear of the box,

put it on and retry the front ON button. Most of the time she succeeded after

doing this routine a few times.

 

Today, it is worst. I brought the computer to my place and never succeeded to

have it boot. It stops at the Win logo. I reinstalled ME, I tried Win98, without

any success.

 

Will I find an answer here? Let's try.

Just out of curiosity, have you actually posted this problem in any of the categories?
