peter38 Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 Hi, I'm new to the forums - just joined today! I am an administrator for an IT consultancy. I need some help on something, I want to create a CD containing a number of network connections, that I can simply send to other people, rather than having to set up 10 new connections every time a new client arrives. Does anyone know how (if at all possible) I could save and export a number of network connections and their properties? Most of the clients run XP. Any thoughts would be much apreciated. Peter Quote
GavinO Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 I'm fairly certain you can't export a collection of network settings. It would be nice (hint to any MS folk reading ;)), but I think that the properties of a connection are tied to closely to the hardware to trasfer between anything but identical machines (in which case Ghost would really be better, I would think). I've read about this being possible under Windows 98, through some form of ctrl-drag technique, but not having a Win98 machine to try it on, I don't have anything specific. FPCH Admin AWS Posted March 24, 2005 FPCH Admin Posted March 24, 2005 I thought maybe settings and transfer wizard would work, but, I was mistaken. As Gavino said netwrok connections are tied to hardware so unless the hardware is the same across all boxes you'll have to manually change each one. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
